The highly anticipated Women’s T20I World Cup 2024 is set to kick off on October 3, 2024, with an exciting double-header on the opening day on Thursday. In the day shift, Bangladesh Women will take on Scotland Women, while the evening clash features Sri Lanka Women facing off against Pakistan Women.

This year’s tournament marks a significant moment as it will be held in the United Arab Emirates, a shift from the originally planned venue in Bangladesh. The change came in light of political unrest in Bangladesh, prompting the ICC to move the tournament to ensure a safe and successful event.

As the tournament unfolds, all eyes will be on the defending champions, Australia Women, who have dominated the format by securing the title on last three occasions at a stretch. Their consistent performances make them one of the most fierce competitiors, but with the rise of other nations, this year's competition is going to be incredibly fierce.

The opening match features Bangladesh Women taking on Scotland Women as they both will be eager to make an impact on the global stage. Scotland are set to make their Women’s Cricket World Cup debut. In the evening game, Sri Lanka Women and Pakistan Women would aim to build momentum early in the tournament. Both the matches will be held at Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah.
