Olly Stone to fly home to get married

England fast bowler Olly Stone is set to return to England on Wednesday from the ongoing tour of Pakistan to tie the knot this weekend. His upcoming wedding will take place on October 15, suggesting his unlikely return ahead of the second Test. Stone made his return to England’s Test side during the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka recently.

He took seven wickets in two games and on the back of that sizzling performance, he was included in England’s squad for Pakistan Tests. For the first Test, England decided to go with Brydon Carse, overlooking Olly Stone. Meanwhile, Stone’s wedding had been planned before he made his return to the England side, therefore management is also happy for Stone.

"We booked the wedding on the basis of me only playing for Notts at the time. Jess said she was happy to move the wedding and I was adamant on keeping it where it was if possible. For what she has given up and sacrificed for me, I thought the least I could do was to try and make it work," Stone said while speaking to the BBC.

"It's a special time in anyone's life. I'm really excited for him. I'm sure he is all over the place with everything that's going on, but it'll be very special for him - and his wife - starting a different chapter in his life. We'll all be raising cold water to him at some point, celebrating," Root wished Stone.
