Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has picked three Indian players, Abhishek Sharma, Varun Chakravarthy, and Jasprit Bumrah, to be the game-changers for India at the Asia Cup 2025 in the UAE. India, who are the defending champions, are gearing up to participate in the tournament under the leadership of Suryakumar Yadav, who himself is one of the most feared batters in the shortest format. While India have a strong squad boasting the likes of Indian Test captain Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya, Tilak Varma, Axar Patel and Shivam Dube, Sehwag believes the trio of Abhishek Sharma, Varun Chakravarthy and Jasprit Bumrah will be incredibly significant for them in the eight-team event.

"I think Abhishek Sharma can be a game-changer. Bumrah is always a game-changer. Varun Chakravarthy, with his mystery bowling, was very effective in the Champions Trophy and in the T20 format as well. So, these are some game changers for India who can win matches on their own," Sehwag said on Sony Sports.

Abhishek Sharma, one of India's most destructive openers, has been in extraordinary form, having already proven himself to be a match winner with his breathtaking performances. Currently, he is ranked no. 1 in the ICC T20I batter rankings.

Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy, on the other hand, played a huge role in India's win at the Champions Trophy 2025, and he would once again be expected to lead the attack. Jasprit Bumrah will return to the T20Is for the first time since his last appearance for Team India at the T20I World Cup last year. Meanwhile, India, who are placed in Group A alongside Pakistan, UAE, and Oman, will begin their campaign by facing the UAE on September 10 in Dubai.
