The IPL 2025 Mega Auction is set to take place on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This high-profile event, which determines the player rosters for the upcoming season of cash rich league Indian Premier League (IPL), is expected to generate significant interest from franchises.

The auction is directly set to clash with the third and fourth days of the first Test match between Australia and India. Last time, the auction was held in Dubai as this is for the second successive year that IPL auction is being held abroad. This time the auction will be held over two days rather than one.

This year's auction promises to be intriguing, as many high-profile players from around the world will be up for auction. A total of 1574 players have registered for the auction. Among those 1574, 1165 are Indians and 409 overseas players. Ahead of the October 31 deadline, all ten franchises retained 46 players. South African wicketkeeper-batter Heinrich Klaasen was the costliest retention at INR 23 crore by Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Each team carries a purse of ₹120 crore to form their squads, but after the retention each team has different purse. The spotlight will be on some top-notch Indian players who will be up for auction including Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant, Ishan Kishan, Yuzvendra Chahal, Shardul Thakur, Harshal Patel, Washington Sundar, and Arshdeep Singh.
