Veteran player earns recall in Bangladesh’s squad for Ireland ODIs

Bangladesh have named their squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against Ireland Women, with veteran opener Sharmin Akhter earning a recall to the team for the first time since last playing for Bangladesh in July 2023 against India.
She also missed the T20I World Cup recently. Since making her debut in 2011, she has featured in 35 ODIs and 16 T20Is for Bangladesh. Experienced Jahanara Alam has also earned a recall to the squad.
The three-match ODI series against Ireland commences on November 27. This will be Bangladesh’s first ODI series since last playing against Australia in April earlier this year. Nigar Sultana will lead Bangladesh. All three ODIs will be played in Mirpur, with first and second matches to be played on November 27 and 30 respectively. While, the third match will be played on December 2.
