“He's got an Australian mentality”: Brett Lee praises Kohli as 1st BGT Test nears

Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee has expressed confidence that India's star batsman Virat Kohli will rise to the occasion in the upcoming Test series against Australia, despite a recent lean patch in his form. Lee acknowledged that Kohli's performance in recent months might not have been as consistent as in the past, but he firmly believes the Indian batter will deliver when it matters most. Kohli, in last six Test matches this year, has been able to accumulate 250 runs

"He's got an Australian mentality, a never-say-die attitude. He doesn't mind getting into a scrap. He doesn't mind having a crack," Lee told Fox Cricket.

"There has been a lot of conjecture around his form recently, but I'm not worried about that. I know with Kohli, he's got the experience underneath his belt," he said.

Lee emphasised Kohli's impressive track record in Australia, where the right-hander has had considerable success over the years. Kohli's ability to perform in challenging conditions, especially against the Australian bowlers on their home turf, has been a key part of his legacy. Against New Zealand, Kohli failed to go past even 100-run mark but Brett Lee remains incredibly confident.

"He may have only got 90 runs in the three-Test series against the Kiwis, but who cares? When he comes out here, he has a great record in Australia," Lee said.
