Pakistan hit by injuries ahead of third ODI against Zimbabwe

Pakistan have suffered injury setbacks ahead of the crucial third and final ODI match against Zimbabwe, scheduled to be played on Thursday at Queens Sports Club. In a big blow, pacers Ahmed Daniyal and Shahnawaz Dahani have been ruled out of the ongoing ODI series due to their respective injuries suffered during team’s training on Sunday. 

Abbas Afridi and Jahandad Khan will be replacing both the players in Pakistan’s squad and will arrive in Bulawayo ahead of the third and final ODI. Interestingly, both players are part of Pakistan’s squad for the subsequent three-match T20I series, to be played from December 1. Daniyal will be replaced by Aamir Jamal in the T20I series. 

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Ahmed Daniyal was ruled out following a hamstring injury, while Dahani was ruled out due to a left ankle injury. Both the players will return to Pakistan and report to National Cricket Academy for further assessment.
