AUS vs IND: Beau Webster added to Australia’s squad ahead of second game

Beau Webster has been added to Australia’s squad for the upcoming second Test match against India in Adelaide. Webster’s inclusion comes amid injury concerns surrounding all-rounder Mitchell Marsh. Webster has been in stunning form, having performed energetically in the Sheffield Shield for Tasmania. He maintained that scintillating form while playing for Australia A against the Indian team ahead of the start of Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Webster carries 303 Sheffield Shield runs this year at an average of 50.50. He has also claimed nine wickets.
The allrounder will be a big asset for Australia as they aim to launch themselves back into the series. The second Test match between Australia and India will be a pink-ball affair, set to be played between December 6 and 10 at Adelaide. India recorded a famous 295-run victory in the first Test to lead the series 1-0.
Stand-in skipper Jasprit Bumrah with his blistering spell crippled Australian batting lineup, while crucial contributions from Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal in the batting department helped India successfully defeat Australia.
Australia squad for second Test: Pat Cummins (c), Scott Boland, Alex Carey (wk), Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, Nathan Lyon, Mitch Marsh, Nathan McSweeney, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Beau Webster
