Ravi Shastri touches upon Siraj-Head altercation

The on-field verbal spat between Australian batter Travis Head and Indian bowler Mohammed Siraj remains one of the most talked about topics, along with team India's disappointing 10-wicket loss in the second Test match against Australia in Adelaide.
The altercation between Siraj and Head broke out when Siraj dismissed Travis Head, who was playing on 140. Both players exchanged heated words before parting ways. Meanwhile, former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri said that he expects such reaction from a fast bowler who has been smashed for a six.
“I’m sure Siraj and Head are mature individuals who will deal with it and the dust would have settled already. If anything, I wouldn’t have expected anything else from a fast bowler after he’d been hit for a six. Siraj was letting off some steam. That’s the fast bowler’s temperament. You want it to be like that," Shastri wrote in a column for CODE Sports.
“When I was playing, my philosophy was to give it back as good as you get. And it’s exactly what I would tell my players when I was coaching India in Australia. Do not hold back one bit."
“Do not take even one backward step. It then became the team’s philosophy and everyone from Virat Kohli to Rishabh Pant and every member of the squad was prepared to give it back to the Aussies," he said.
The five-match series between both teams is currently tied 1-1, with India and Australia registering victories in the first and second game respectively.
