New Zealand and Sri Lanka are once again preparing to get into action as they are set to face off in the first ODI of their three-match series on Sunday at Basin Reserve, Wellington. With New Zealand coming off a successful T20I series win, the upcoming ODI series is going to be another captivating spectacle. 

New Zealand's 2-1 victory in the preceding T20I series has provided them with a significant boost in confidence, and they will be looking to carry that momentum into the ODI format.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, will be keen to shake off the disappointment of their T20I series loss. Although they capped off the T20I series on a winning note, clinching victory in the final match. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka will be determined to make their mark in the 50-over format, where they have shown strong performances in the past. Heading into ODIs, Sri Lanka will look to focus on building partnerships with the bat and tightening up their bowling attack, which at times, cost them a lot in the T20Is.
