Former England batter Kevin Pietersen has been appointed Delhi Capitals’ mentor ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. At Delhi Capitals, Kevin Pietersen will join the coaching staff led by Hemang Badani, who is the head coach of the team. The staff also includes Matthew Mott (assistant coach), Munaf Patel (bowling coach) and Venugopal Rao (director of cricket).

This is for the first time that Pietersen is taking up coaching responsibilities in the IPL. He last played in the league in 2016. Pietersen led Delhi Capitals (then Daredevils) during the 2014 season. He also led the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2009.

Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, will begin their IPL 2025 campaign by clashing with Lucknow Super Giants on March 24 at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam. They, however, are yet to name their skipper for IPL 2025.
