NZ vs PAK: Babar-Rizwan overlooked for T20I, Salman Agha to captain

Pakistan have named their squads for the upcoming T20I and ODI series against New Zealand, which is scheduled to begin later this month, with stalwarts Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan being dropped for the five-match T20I series. With Rizwan not featuring in the squad, Salman Agha will captain the side. The T20I squad also sees the return of Shadab Khan, who has been named as deputy to Salman Agha. The squad also includes the likes of Mohammad Haris, Abdul Samad, Abbas Afridi, Jahandad Khan and Mohammad Ali

For the ODIs, Mohammad Rizwan retains the captaincy, while Shaheen Afridi has been dropped. The ODI series will also mark the return of bowler Mohammad Wasim Jnr. Abdullah Shafique has also retained his place after being dropped for the Champions Trophy. Akif Javed has received a maiden ODI call-up.
