Hasaranga returns as Sri Lanka reveal squad for Asia Cup 2025
Sri Lanka have named their squad for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, with talented all-rounder Wanidnu Hasaranga being included in the side. Hasaranga, who had a massively successful 2024, finishing as Sri Lanka’s leading wicket-taker in both ODIs and T20Is, was recently omitted from the team's squads for the ODIs and T20Is against Zimbabwe due to a hamstring injury.
In fact, he has been out of action since the ODI series against Bangladesh in July. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka have gone with familiar faces in Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, Kamindu Mendis, Dasun Shanaka and Chamika Karunaratne. Charith Asalanka will lead the side. The Asia Cup will begin on September 9, and Sri Lanka will start their campaign against Bangladesh on September 13 at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
