IPL 2025: Chetan Sakariya replaces Umran Malik at KKR

In a big development, Kolkata Knight Riders have brought in Chetan Sakariya as a replacement for the speedster Umran Malik for the upcoming IPL season. Umran Malik has been ruled out of the IPL 2025. Meanwhile, Sakariya himself is currently in the process of recovering from his own injury and he last played competitive cricket during a Ranji Trophy match for Saurashtra in February 2024.
Sakariya has played for India in an ODI and two T20Is. He has also played 19 IPL games. He has been roped in by KKR for INR 75 Lakh. KKR, who are the defending champions, will kick off their campaign by taking on Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the tournament opener on March 22 at Eden Gardens.
