KL Rahul’s breathtaking knock lifts DC to triumph over RCB
Delhi Capitals continued their red-hot form in the ongoing IPL season with a commanding six-wicket victory over the high-flying Royal Challengers Bengaluru on Thursday in Bengaluru, marking their fourth successive win of the season.
Spearheaded by an exceptional unbeaten knock from KL Rahul (93), DC chased down a target of 164 with ease, underlining their dominance in the tournament. DC finished at 169/4 in 17.5 overs. Initially, the match seemed to tilt in favour of RCB after DC lost their top three batters in quick succession, but Rahul anchored the innings with a masterclass knock. His unbeaten 93 was the backbone of DC’s chase. Rahul found able support in Tristan Stubbs, who remained unbeaten on 38. The duo stitched together a crucial partnership to carry the side over the line.
Earlier, RCB were put into bat and posted a modest total of 163/7 in 20 overs. Phil Salt and Tim David set the tone with identical scores of 37, giving their team a strong boost. Tim David remained unbeaten on 37. Captain Rajat Patidar chipped in with a useful 25, while Kohli scored 22.
