Unbeaten Delhi Capitals went down to Mumbai Indians by 12 runs in their IPL match on Sunday at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. Capitals were on course for a scintillating win until Karn Sharma dented their chances by picking up three crucial wickets. Meanwhile, DC batter Karun Nair had kept the side in the chase with his remarkable 89, but after his wicket everything fell apart for Capitals.

Additionally, Mitchell Santner took two wickets, including that of Karun Nair, to turn the tide in Mumbai’s favour. Later, three wickets to a hat-trick of run-outs put Mumbai in complete control of the game as DC finished their innings at 193 all out in 19 overs.

“Winning is always special. Especially in games like this. You have to keep fighting and it means a lot. We were getting out of options of what to bowl at him. The way he took on our bowlers, took his chances, and the way he executed that was really fantastic. And, I think that shows the amount of hard work he has been doing over the years,” Hardik said during the post-match presentation.

Pandya also highlighted Karn Sharma’s precision with ball after he claimed the wickets of Abhishek Porel, KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs.

“Fantastic. Coming in and bowling the way he bowled, showed a lot of heart, especially at a small ground like that."
