Indian ODI and Test skipper Rohit Sharma, who plays for Mumbai Indians in the IPL, finally hit his straps as MI thrashed Chennai Super Kings by nine wickets on Sunday at Wankhede. After enduring a series of disappointing innings, Rohit returned to his best, slamming 76 off 45 to inspire the side to a dominant win. His eye-catching knock included six impressive sixes and four boundaries. Speaking on his knock, Rohit asserted that he never doubted his abilities.

"After being here for such a long time, it's very easy to start doubting yourself, getting worried and start doing different things. For me, it was important that I keep doing what I am doing, which is practise well, hit the ball well, which is what I've been trying to do," Rohit said after the match.

"And when you back yourself and you're clear in your mind, things like this can happen. I know it's been a little while but, like I said, if you start doubting yourself, you're only going to put pressure on yourself and actually the experience of being here for such a long time helps."

Before Sunday’s innings, Rohit had managed to score just 82 runs in six outings at an average of 13.67, but with his strong return to form, Rohit has once again demonstrated his relentless determination.
