Litton Das named T20I captain as Bangladesh announce squad for UAE and Pakistan T20Is

Litton Das has officially been named as Bangladesh’s T20I captain, taking over the reins from Najmul Hossain Shanto, who stepped down earlier this year. Mehidy Hasan has been named his deputy. Litton will lead the squad in the upcoming T20Is against the UAE and Pakistan. 

Meanwhile, Shanto remains part of the squad that also features Towhid Hridoy, Tanvir Islam, Mustafizur Rahman and Shoriful Islam, who all missed Bangladesh’s T20I series against West Indies in December.

Das has previously led the side as a stand-in skipper, but the upcoming series marks his first assignment as a full-time T20I captain. In their upcoming assignments, Bangladesh will firstly play UAE in two T20Is on May 17 and 19, respectively, in Sharjah. And later they will travel to Pakistan for a five-match T20I series that begins on May 25.
