IPL to resume on May 17, revised schedule confirmed

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 will resume on May 17 with an exciting match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Bengaluru. The much-awaited return of the tournament comes after a brief suspension due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. With the announcement of a ceasefire on Saturday, the path is now clear for the tournament to resume.
The final will be played on June 3, as the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the revised schedule on Monday. Qualifier 1 and Eliminator will be held on May 29 and 30, respectively. Meanwhile, Qualifier 2 will be played on June 1. The remainder of the tournament will be played across six venues – Bengaluru, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, Ahmedabad and Mumbai. Notably, the venues for the playoff stages, including the final, will be announced later. A total of 17 matches, including four playoff games, are to be played across six venues.
