IPL 2025: SRH overpower RCB in high-scoring thriller

In a swashbuckling clash, Sunrisers Hyderabad showcased their dominance with the bat and ball to defeat Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 42 runs on Friday in Lucknow. Till the end, the showdown was a high-octane affair with both sides putting up a strong show, but it was SRH who had the last laugh.

He received support from Abhishek Sharma, who chipped in with a handy 34, while Heinrich Klaasen played a quickfire cameo, scoring 24 off just 13 balls
Chasing a massive target, RCB got off to a promising start. Openers Phil Salt and Virat Kohli took on SRH’s pace attack with confidence. Salt played a commanding innings, scoring 62, while Kohli added a fluent 43. Their partnership gave RCB an early hope of a successful chase.
However, once the openers were dismissed, the momentum shifted. The middle-order failed to maintain the tempo, crumbling under pressure. Wickets fell at regular intervals as RCB were bowled out for 189 in 19.5 overs.
