Turning their attention to the shortest format, England and West Indies are set to face off in the first T20I of a three-match series on Friday at Riverside Ground. England enter the series brimming with confidence, having completed a comprehensive whitewash in the preceding three-match ODI series.

In the final ODI match on Tuesday, England secured a 7-wicket (DLS) victory over West Indies, completing a 3-0 series sweep. With the T20 World Cup on the horizon, England will be eager to translate their ODI success into the T20I format of the game.

  West Indies, on the other hand, will be looking to bounce back from their ODI series defeat. The T20I series offers a fresh opportunity for West Indies to show their power-hitting prowess. With power hitters like Shimron Hetmyer, Jason Holder, Rovman Powell, and Andre Russell in the side, West Indies have the firepower to challenge England. They will be keen to make a resounding comeback to have a dominant start in T20Is.
