New Zealand have named a strong squad for the upcoming T20I tri-series against Zimbabwe and South Africa, beginning July 16. Players such as all-rounder Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra, and skipper Mitchell Santner have made their return to the side after missing the T20I assignment against Pakistan recently. Notably, opener Devon Conway has been left out of the squad. Meanwhile, uncapped player Bevon Jacobs has been included in the squad.

“I think we’ve got a really strong squad for this tour and I’m looking forward to getting the team together and getting into the work. We’ve got some good experience in the side and it’s nice to be able to welcome back a few of the players who missed the March series against Pakistan because of the IPL,” head coach Rob Walter said.

“It should be a great T20 tri-series with South Africa who are a very strong side and Zimbabwe who play well at home in their own conditions.”

This will be Rob Walter’s first assignment with New Zealand as their head coach.
