SL vs BAN 2nd ODI: Struggling Bangladesh confront fired-up Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will once again be against each other as they prepare to cross paths in the second ODI, set to be played on Saturday (July 5) at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo. Sri Lanka, having romped to a solid 77-run win in the first game on the back of a commanding batting display put on by Charith Asalanka, scoring 106, would look to seal the opportunity to claim a series-clinching victory in the second ODI.

Sri Lanka have superbly managed to leverage home advantage, with bowlers and batters meeting the expectations. In the first ODI, Wanindu Hasaranga and Kamindu Mendis led the bowling charge, taking 4 and 3 wickets, respectively, and bowling Bangladesh out for 167 in their chase of 245. However, Bangladesh will be expected to hit back strongly to level the series 1-1 and set up the decider.

They were aided by Tanzid Hasan and Jake Ali, both of whom smashed their half-centuries, but Bangladesh fell short after other batters failed in their efforts to resist Sri Lankan bowlers. Nonetheless, the battle is going to be quite interesting, with Bangladesh heading into the second game to improve themselves.
