After going down to England by 22 runs in the third Test, India are once again ready to take on England in the fourth Test match beginning Wednesday in Manchester. England lead the five-match series 2–1 after wins in the first and third Tests. And victory in Manchester would clinch their first Test series over India in seven years. 

For India, this is a must-win situation to keep the series alive going into the final showdown at The Oval. Heading into the fourth Test, India have been by injuries to their crucial players, with Akash Deep and Arshdeep Singh having been ruled out of the fourth Test. Nitish Kumar Reddy has been ruled out of the England tour. Anshul Kamboj has been added to the squad as cover and could be in line to make his debut. 

Jasprit Bumrah will play the fourth Test, leading India’s pace assault. Rishabh Pant, nursing an injured finger, has resumed wicketkeeping duties and will be available for the Manchester game, as confirmed by skipper Shubman Gill. England, who have named their playing XI, will field Liam Dawson in place of injured Shoaib Bashir. Overall, for England a win would seal the series, asserting the success of the Stokes–McCullum aggressive era. For India, it's a high-stakes fightback to reassert their dominance and keep the series alive.
