Mohammed Siraj’s extraordinary performance in the fifth and final Test against England at The Oval helped India seal a 2‑2 series draw. Leading the charge with the ball, Siraj made a stunning impact, as he took five wickets in England’s second innings to help India snatch the victory. On day 5, England had just needed 35 runs to secure victory, but Siraj claiming a five-wicket haul (5/104), removing England batters in quick succession, gave India an upper hand in the game. Even in England’s first innings, Siraj came out with a crucial spell of 4/86, helping India recover from early setbacks. Lauding Siraj’s performance, Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar highlighted his approach and attitude but also felt that Siraj doesn’t get the due credit he deserves.

"Unbelievable. Superb approach. I love his attitude. I love the spring in his legs. For a fast bowler to be constantly in your face like that, no batsman will like it. And the approach he had till the end on the last day, I could hear commentators also saying he bowled around 90mph (145kph) on the last day after having bowled more than 1000 deliveries in the series. That shows his courage and big heart,” Tendulkar said in a video on Reddit as quoted by ESPNcricinfo.

"The way he started on the last day was remarkable and he has always been instrumental, playing a key role whenever we need him, whenever we want him to deliver that knockout punch, he's been able to do that consistently in the past, and so was the case in this series. The way he picked all those wickets and performed, he doesn't get the credit he deserves."

Mohammed Siraj finished with 9 wickets in the match, thus capping off the series with 23 wickets in 9 innings—the most by any bowler in the series.
