Indian legend Cheteshwara Pujara has retired from all forms of Indian cricket. The Indian Test stalwart, renowned for his electrifying batting and unmatched determination, leaves behind a powerful legacy.

"Wearing the Indian jersey, singing the anthem, and trying my best each time I stepped on the field - it's impossible to put into words what it truly meant. But as they say, all good things must come to an end, and with immense gratitude I have decided to retire from all forms of Indian cricket," Pujara wrote in a social media post.

"Thank you for all the love and support!"

Pujara played 103 Tests for India, scoring 7,195 runs; however, he has not featured for India since the 2023 World Test Championship final. He smashed 19 hundreds and 35 fifties in 103 test matches. He also played five ODIs in an international career that began back in October 2010.

"As a little boy from the small town of Rajkot, along with my parents, I set out to aim for the stars, and dreamt to be a part of the Indian cricket team. Little did I know then that this game would give me so much - invaluable opportunities, experiences, purpose, love, and above all a chance to represent my state and this great nation," Pujara wrote.

"I would like to thank the BCCI, and Saurashtra Cricket Association for the opportunity and support through my cricket career. Am equally grateful to all the teams, franchises and counties I have been able to represent over the years.

"The game has taken me to places across the globe - and the passionate support and energy of the fans has always been a constant. I have been humbled by the wishes and motivation wherever I have played and will always remain grateful."

Pujara was also actively involved in first-class cricket. He made his first-class debut for Saurashtra in late 2005 and also played for them in the last Ranji Trophy season.

Reacting to the retirement, Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah took to Instagram and stated, "Cricket will miss you Pujji bhai. Wishing you success on your next chapter."

Indian opener KL Rahul wrote, "An era of grit, patience and class. Happy retirement Pujji. Wish you very best in your next chapter."

Former India captain Anil Kumble also took to social media to praise Pujara.

"Congratulations on a fantastic career! You have been a great ambassador of this wonderful game.

"We are all proud of all your achievements on the cricket field. You gave it your all for the team! It was a privilege to have worked with you and may you continue to shine in your second innings."
