Bangladesh and Hong Kong are gearing up to face each other in the third match of the Asia Cup on Thursday at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. The match holds significant importance for both sides, particularly for Hong Kong, who are coming off a disappointing defeat in their opening encounter against Afghanistan. They suffered a crushing 94-run defeat against Afghanistan, failing to chase a target of 189 and getting bowled out for 94 in 20 overs.

Hong Kong struggled with both bat and ball, failing to mount a serious challenge, eventually registering a frustrating start. Heading into the match against Bangladesh, Hong Kong will aim to address their weakness and stage a massive comeback in order to keep their campaign alive.

For Bangladesh, this will be their first outing in the Asia Cup 2025, and they'll look forward to starting their tournament on a winning note. Meanwhile, Bangladesh, led by Litton Das, will view this as an opportunity to settle into rhythm before facing Sri Lanka in their next game. However, they will also be aware of the fact that they were beaten by Hong Kong during their T20I World Cup match in 2014.

Bangladesh possible XI: Litton Das (C), Tanzid Hasan, Mohammad Parvez Hossain, Towhid Hridoy, Shamim Hossain, Jaker Ali, Mahedi Hasan, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Mustafizur Rahman

Hong Kong possible XI: Zeeshan Ali (wk), Babar Hayat, Anshuman Rath, Kalhan Challu, Nizakat Khan, Aizaz Khan, KD Shah, Yasim Murtaza (C), Ayush Shukla, Ateeq Iqbal, Ehsan Khan
