"Pakistan are no match": Former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly

Defending champions India didn't come across any challenge from bitter rivals Pakistan in their clash on Sunday as they effortlessly beat the men in green to register a splendid seven-wicket win at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. India's spin attack laid the foundation for an assertive win, imploding Pakistan to 127/9 (20) and ripping through their batting line-up with disciplined bowling. Pakistan miserably failed to confront India as their largely inexperienced batting attack surrendered against India's relentless bowlers. Later, India, chasing the target, saw captain Suryakumar Yadav top score an unbeaten 47 to guide India home in 16.4 overs.
Commenting on Pakistan's struggle, former India captain Sourav Ganguly expressed surprise over Pakistan's demolition, saying there was no competition.
"Pakistan are no match. I say that with respect just because I see what the team is, it’s the lack of quality in the side. The Indian team played this game without Virat and Rohit, who were stalwarts for such a long period of time," Ganguly said at an event in Kolkata on Monday,
Ganguly felt India are far too ahead.
"India are too far ahead in cricket. From Pakistan and any of these Asia Cup teams. There’ll be one or two days when they’ll get beaten, but majority of the days, they’ll be the best team. And I was not surprised with what I saw. I actually stopped watching after the first 15 overs and I was watching Manchester City play Manchester United last night. Because there is no competition anymore in India vs Pakistan,'' Ganguly said.
“I always say, we think of Pakistan as Waqar Younises, Wasim Akrams, the Saeed Anwars and Javed Miandads. But that’s not the case with this modern-day Pakistan — it's now like chalk and cheese. So, it's not a competition anymore," Ganguly said.
