Nicholas Pooran and Alex Hales power Trinbago Knight Riders to CPL 2025 final

Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) surged to the final of the 2025 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) with Nicholas Pooran and Alex Hales displaying masterful batting performances, forming an unbreakable 143-run partnership to propel their side to a commanding total of 194/4 in 20 overs. The dynamic duo's stellar effort was instrumental in securing TKR’s place in the final.
Asked to bat first, TKR faced early challenges, losing Colin Munro for 6. However, despite the initial hiccups, Pooran and Hales took charge, showing great determination as they built an unbroken partnership, taking TKR to a total that proved challenging for Saint Lucia Kings.
Chasing a challenging target, Saint Lucia Kings’ chase began with promise, after Tim Seifert led from the front. The New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman played an impressive knock of 57 runs, playing some delightful shots to keep the Kings' hopes alive. However, Seifert’s valiant efforts were not enough to get his team over the line.
The real turning point came when the middle order of the Kings collapsed under the mounting pressure. The Knight Riders bowlers Sunil Narine and Usman Tariq maintained firm control and choked the scoring in the middle overs. The Kings were left with too much to do and ultimately fell short of 56 runs, finishing at 138/8 in 20 overs. Sunil Narine and Usman Tariq took three and four wickets, respectively.
