R Ashwin to participate in ILT20, Big Bash League: Reports

Following his recent retirement from international cricket and most recently from the IPL, Indian spinner Ravichandaran Ashwin is set to embark on a new chapter in his illustrious career, venturing into T20 leagues around the world.
As per Cricbuzz, Ashwin has registered for the upcoming ILT20 auction. In addition to the ILT20, Ashwin has also received offers from multiple franchises in the Big Bash League (BBL) for the 2025–26 season. The franchises include defending champions Hobart Hurricanes, coached by Ricky Ponting. Sydney Sixers, Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers, coached by Tim Paine. Meanwhile, Ashwin is set to face challenges due to the tight scheduling of both leagues. The ILT20 is expected to commence on December 2, later this year, and the Big Bash League begins on December 14 and will conclude on January 25 next year. Ashwin, meanwhile, is likely to feature in both leagues.
He is also expected to feature in Hong Kong Sixes 2025 for Team India. The tournament is slated to be played from November 7 to 9. Notably, Indian players are only allowed to participate in overseas leagues once they are retired from all forms of cricket in India.
