KL Rahul accomplishes major milestone, joins Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli in elite List

In a landmark achievement, Indian batter KL Rahul became only the seventh Indian batter to surpass 2000 runs in the ICC World Test Championship. The landmark moment came on day one of the second Test match against West Indies on Friday in New Delhi. KL Rahul, who opened the innings alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal, approached the second Test 16 runs short of the achievement. He accomplished the feat by smashing Jayden Seales for back-to-back fours on the last two balls of the ninth over of India’s first innings. Rahul further cemented his reputation as one of India's most dependable red-ball players. He was also impressive in the first test, slamming a stylish century.
Meanwhile, with the achievement, Rahul joins an exclusive group of elite Indian batters who have left a mark in the WTC format. The list is headlined by wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who leads the chart with a remarkable 2731 runs from 38 matches. He is followed by modern-day legends Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli, who have 2716, 2697 and 2617 runs to their names, respectively.
