England and joint hosts Sri Lanka are set to face off in the 12th match of the ongoing Women’s ODI World Cup on Saturday in Colombo. The encounter takes place amid contrasting motivations for both sides. England, who have been unbeaten so far in the tournament, will look to extend their winning momentum, while Sri Lanka will aim to turn their campaign around with a much-needed win.

England have registered a commanding start to their campaign, registering back-to-back victories in their opening two matches. They have displayed fine bowling and consistent batting performance, and the side currently looks well-balanced and confident. England have steamrolled South Africa and edged Bangladesh in their last two games in the tournament.

Sri Lanka have struggled to find rhythm. They suffered defeat in their opening fixture against India. While their second game was a washout against Australia, earning them one point. Now, with the pressure of playing at home and the added challenge of facing an in-form opponent, Sri Lanka will need to put in a spirited performance to revive their campaign.
