World Cup 2023: Rising Afghanistan and Netherlands to clash with each other

After having thrown a lot of surprises in the World Cup 2023, high on confidence Afghanistan and Netherlands are set to fight it out against each other in the 34th match of the World Cup on Friday at Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow. Both Afghanistan and Netherlands have been impressive with their victories against robust opponents. This match will be crucial for both teams with respect to Semi-Final spot as a win for them will move them a lot closer to semi-final berth. Both teams surprised big teams like South Africa and England with their huge victories against them. Afghanistan surprised England and New Zealand with their (69) and (149) victories respectively. Netherlands, on the other hand, astounded South Africa with their 38-run win in the rain-curtailed 43-over match.
Both teams are carrying high chances of making it to the semi-final as this will be the vital clash for them. Afghanistan, as of now, are sitting on the sixth position in the points table with three wins out of six matches. If they win their match against Netherlands, then, they will get closer to the Australia and New Zealand who both are having four victories each while sitting on third and fourth position respectively. Looking at their head-to-head in ODIs, both Afghanistan and Netherlands have played nine ODIs where Afghanistan have emerged victorious on most occasions as they have won seven matches while Netherlands have got two wins. Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah and Hashmatullah Shahidi have been brilliant for the team and would be expected to lead the charge.
