Delhi Capitals’ skipper Rishabh Pant missed the last season of the riveting Indian Premier League in its entirety after meeting with a horrifying car crash incident in December 2022. Pant had sustained serious injuries after his car skidded off the highway as he was on his way to Roorkee. Due to the seriousness of injuries, Pant underwent surgeries while missing major events for team India as well. However, Pant has made a speedy recovery since then. He’s put in a lot of hard work to get himself back into the perfectly fit health. Meanwhile, Pant may reportedly play in the Indian Premier League 2024 after having made a tremendous recovery. Pant has also given a major update on his fitness ahead of the IPL Auction 2024.

“I think much better what I was doing a few months ago so like still on recovery to 100 per cent. But hopefully in a few months time I’ll be able to do it,” said Pant in a video by Delhi Capitals.

“I came for the auction because sometimes you want to explain to people that the kind of player you want, and I feel if I am able to do that. Most of the part will be clear because if you get the players you want, that would be the best thing,”

Pant expressed his affection towards fans for supporting him during his recovery time. Pant said that people’s concern and love really helps in recovering.

“I think it’s been really amazing because whenever we keep on playing cricket we feel no one loves us because there is always pressure in so many things. But actually yes, it’s a hard time. But I got to know at least people love us. They respect us and the kind of appreciation and the kind of concern I would say people have shown over a period of time because of my injury,” said Pant.

"I think it was heartfelt, like crazy for me because it means a lot as an individual. When you are going through a very rough time or something like that happens to you. It’s not only physical, it’s like mentally also and if your supporters and the people support you or show you love, it means a lot and it really helps in recovering, I guess,” stated Pant.
