SA vs IND 3rd ODI: India triumph over South Africa, beat them by 78 runs to win the series 2-1
In a thrilling cricket encounter between India and South Africa on Thursday at Boland Park, the Men in Blue emerged victorious, securing a convincing win by beating the proteas by 78 runs in the third and final ODI to secure the series 2-1. The match, which unfolded with intense moments and stellar performances, displayed India's resilience and strategic brilliance to come out of any troubling situation. Put into bat, India posted a total of 296 in 50 overs after losing 8 wickets. India had registered a clinical performance from their players with Sanju Samson and Tilak Varma scoring century and half-century to propel the side to a modest total. In their chase, South Africa were frustrated by Indian bowler Arshdeep Singh who returned with four wickets followed by Avesh Khan and Washington Sundar claiming two wickets each to bowl out South Africa for (218) in (45.5) overs. Tony de Zorzi top-scored for the proteas with his 81-run knock. KL Rahul’s astute captaincy played a significant role in India's success. His strategic decisions, field placements, and ability to inspire the team were on full display. KL Rahul, meanwhile failed to show his brilliance with the bat but in terms of leadership he exhibited a great deal of composure.
