IND-W vs AUS-W 3rd T20I: Australia end their India tour with the emphatic win in 3rd game
In a fiery encounter at DY Patil Sports Academy, Australia Women emerged victorious against India Women by beating them by seven wickets in the third and final T20 International, securing a 2-1 series win on Tuesday. Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney played fierce innings with their half-centuries to get the team off to a resounding start in their chase of 148.
India, put into bat, set a modest target for Australia with openers Shafali Verma, Smriti Mandhana scoring (26) and (29) respectively. Richa Ghosh scored (34) runs. The visitors showcased their bowling prowess, with key contributions coming from Annabel Sutherland and Georgia Wareham claiming two wickets each. Ashleigh Gardner and Megan Schutt took one wicket each. The Indian batters, on the other hand, failed to get going as Australia managed to restrict India for 147/6 in (20) overs.
Chasing the target, Australia Women started off well with openers Alyssa Healy and Beth Mooney scoring 55 and 52* respectively to set the tone for teams’ victory. Australia went past the total in 18.4 overs after losing 3 wickets. Australia have ended their India tour with the victories in both white-ball series.
