Jadeja joins Kohli, Rohit in bowing out of T20 international after India’s World Cup win

Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, known for his explosive batting and terrific spin bowling, has announced his retirement from T20 International cricket. This marks the end of an era for Indian cricket, following the retirements of Indian skipper Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli a day earlier. After India’s triumph at the T20I World Cup, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli bowed out of T20 international, however they will continue to play ODIs and Tests. 

"With a heart full of gratitude, I bid farewell to T20 internationals. Like a steadfast horse galloping with pride, I've always given my best for my country and will continue to do so in other formats,” Jadeja wrote on his social media account.  

"Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, a pinnacle of my T20 international career. Thank you for the memories, the cheers, and the unwavering support."

Jadeja has played 74 T20Is for India. Jadeja, meanwhile recorded a slight dip in his from during India’s T20I World Cup 2024 campaign, not making much of a contribution. However, over the years Jadeja has been a steadfast performer for the team, making immense contributions. Jadeja will continue to provide his services to the team in ODIs and Tests. In his 74 appearances, Jadeja has taken 54 wickets and scored 515 runs.
