India to host Men’s Asia Cup 2025, Bangladesh in 2027

India are all set to host the upcoming edition of the Men’s Asia Cup tournament to be played in T20 format in 2025, as per the Invitation for Expression of Interest (IEOI) by the Asian Cricket Council for sponsorship rights. The last edition of the tournament, which was held in 2023, was hosted by Pakistan in hybrid model after India declined to travel to Pakistan and played their matches in Sri Lanka.
After 34 years, India will be hosting the tournament as the defending champions, having clinched the title in the last edition of the tournament in 2023. The last time India hosted the title was back in 1990.
Notably, since 2016, the tournament has been used as a platform to prepare for world events and has been played in the format in which world events are slated to be played. This time Asia Cup will be played in T20 format, serving as a perfect stage for the teams to prepare for the T20I World Cup in 2026.
Similarly, Bangladesh will be hosting the Asia Cup in 2027, which will be played in the ODI format coming just a little ahead of the ODI World Cup 2027, to be played in South Africa.
