BCCI changes venues for India’s matches against Bangladesh, England

BCCI has made changes in the venues for India’s home schedule as it has shifted first T20I match against Bangladesh, to be held on October 6, from Dharamshala to Gwalior. The shift in venue from Dharamshala to Gwalior was made due to the “upgrade and renovation work being carried out by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in dressing rooms”, the BCCI said in a release.
The first T20I match between India and Bangladesh will be the first international match at Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium, since legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s remarkable maiden double-ton in men’s ODIs in 2010.
BCCI has also decided to swap the venues for India’s ODI series against England next year. Eden Garden will now be hosting the opening match and Chennai will be hosting the second game respectively. "The venue change was necessitated following a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal regarding their prior Republic Day commitments and obligations," the BCCI said.
