PAK vs ENG: England recall Rehan Ahmed for final Test
England have picked Rehan Ahmed as they named their playing XI for the final and deciding Test match against Pakistan, beginning on October 24 in Rawalpindi. Rehan Ahmed will assist fellow spinners Jack Leach and Shoaib Bashir in the turning conditions in Rawalpindi. Rehan’s inclusion in the team comes at the cost of pace bowling, with Brydon Carse and Matt Potts being dropped.
Gus Atkinson is the only sole specialist fast bowler in the team. Rehan Ahmed last appeared for England in the longest format during their tour of India earlier this year in February.
He had a successful time and also got accustomed to the sub-continent conditions. Talking about the series against Pakistan, England won the first game very easily but the hosts were able to level the series after thrashing England in the second game.
England XI for the 3rd Test against Pakistan: Zak Crawley, Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope, Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes (c), Jamie Smith (wk), Gus Atkinson, Rehan Ahmed, Jack Leach, Shoaib Bashir.
