SA vs IND 1st T20I: All you need to know

India and South Africa are all set to engage in a thrilling four-match T20I series, which will kick off this Friday, with the first game scheduled to be held at Kingsmead. Both teams are coming into the series with young talent and experienced players. India have the likes of Rinku Singh, Tilak Varma, Abhishek Sharma, Jitesh Sharma and Sanju Samson among others. On the other hand, South Africa have a mix of young and experienced players. They have the likes of skipper Aiden Markram, Ryan Rickelton, Heinrich Klaasen, Tristian Stubbs and David Miller.
This first T20I holds significance for both sides as they look to take the early lead in the series. India, riding high on confidence after claiming series victories against Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in their previous assignments, would hope to continue with the same attack.
On the other hand, South Africa, often seen as one of the most consistent teams in the shorter format, would aim to fine-tune their tactics and leverage home conditions. South Africa also have had a solid run in T20 cricket, most notably finishing as runners-up in the T20I World Cup 2024.
