Former Indian head coach slams team India for ordinary bowling

Former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri has come down hard on Indian captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir for their decision to play two spinners in the ongoing fourth Test against Australia. Shastri did not hold back his criticism when it came to the team’s bowling performance, which wasn't up to the standards.
The fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which is being played in Melbourne, hasn't turned out to be the way India hoped. For the fourth Test, India dropped Shubman Gill to make way for Washington Sundar but Ravi Shastri questioned India's decision to play two spinners. He also voiced concerns about the overall bowling performance of the Indian team in the ongoing Test.
“I thought the bowling was pretty ordinary. They ran out of ideas, India. Spin wasn’t used as much as it should have. It took a gap of 40 overs before Jadeja was introduced into the attack. It took a long time for Washington Sundar to bowl his first over. So when you’re playing two spinners, you have to ask the question, why did you play two spinners? What was the need if you don’t trust them?," Shastri said on Star Sports.

Australia piled up 474 in their first innings, with Steve Smith firing 140 off 197.
