India set up semi-final date with Australia, while New Zealand face South Africa in semi-final 2

India concluded their group stage campaign in the ongoing Champions Trophy in commanding fashion, defeating New Zealand in their final match to finish at the top of Group A. With this victory, India have set up their semi-final showdown against Australia in a high-stakes encounter. The match between India and Australia will be held on Tuesday at Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai.
India, having already shown dominant form in the tournament, went into the match with confidence as they startled New Zealand by registering a 44-run win. India rode on the spellbinding performance from uncanny spinner Varun Chakravarthy, who repaid the faith with a five-wicket haul. While, Shreyas Iyer (79), Axar Patel (42) and Hardik Pandya (45) scored major runs to take India to a total of 249.
New Zealand, on the other hand, looked to continue their strong performance in the group stage and challenge India's dominance, but they failed in their effort to put an end to India’s winning streak. As for New Zealand, despite the loss, they will still move forward in the tournament. They finished second in Group A and will now face South Africa in the semi-final 2, which will be played on Wednesday in Lahore. South Africa's campaign has been equally impressive, setting up a fascinating showdown between the two teams.
