The highly anticipated 2025 Indian Premier League season opener between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru, scheduled for Saturday (March 22) at Eden Gardens, is facing potential disruption as Indian Met Department (IMD) has issued an orange weather alert for the region.
The warning raises concerns that adverse weather conditions, including rain and strong winds, could affect the match. Kolkata has experienced unpredictable weather patterns in recent days, with short spells of rain battering the region in the lead up to the season opener.
