Gill, Siraj, Sundar star as Ruthless GT outclass SRH

Skipper Shubman Gill (61*) and Washington Sundar (49) delivered staggering performances that steered Gujarat Titans to a commanding seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday in Hyderabad. Chasing a target of 153, the duo put together a match-winning partnership, leading their team to a comfortable victory in just 16.4 overs. GT finished at 153/3.
Early on, the match appeared to be slipping away for Titans after their star players, Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler, were dismissed cheaply, with Buttler being sent back for a duck and Sudharsan falling for just 5 runs. However, Gill and Sundar steadied the ship, playing with determination to put the team back in the chase.
Earlier, when asked to bat, Hyderabad’s innings never really got going, with their top order failing to capitalise on the opportunity. They only posted a modest total of 152/8 in their 20 overs.
Nitish Kumar Reddy was the highest run-scorer for SRH, contributing 31 runs; Heinrich Klaasen added 27 runs to the total. Meanwhile, GT’s bowlers were exceptional, particularly Mohammed Siraj, who returned with four wickets. R Sai Kishore (2 for 24) and Prasidh Krishna (2 for 25) also remained vital in helping GT restrict SRH to a manageable total.
