Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma’s brutal assault help SRH edge out Punjab

In a high-scoring showdown in Hyderabad on Saturday, the home team Sunrisers Hyderabad delivered a scintillating performance to chase down a mammoth target of 246 set by Punjab Kings, securing a dominant eight-wicket victory. The chase was led by monstrous knocks from openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma who powered SRH to victory with an extraordinary barrage of sixes.
Travis Head blasted (66) runs off just (37) balls, featuring a flurry of boundaries. While Abhishek Sharma slammed his maiden IPL century and became the only Indian player to belt out the highest individual score in the IPL. Although Head and Abhishek’s powerful knocks were eventually cut short after they lost their wickets for (66 off 37) and (141 off 55), the duo had already done the job for SRH. In the middle, Heinrich Klaasen (21) and Ishan Kishan (9) remained unbeaten to guide SRH across the finish line with 9 balls to spare.
Earlier, deciding to bat, Punjab set a daunting total of 245/6 in 20 overs. The massive total was made possible by explosive knocks from Shreyas Iyer (82) and Prabhsimran Singh (42). Singh supported Iyer with an impressive 42 runs off 23 balls. Marcus Stoinis (34* off 11) and Priyansh Arya (36 off 13) gave Punjab some late impetus.
