Demonstrating an outstanding display of masterclass batting and powerful bowling, Gujarat Titans defeated Kolkata Knight Riders by 39 runs in their Indian Premier League clash on Monday at Eden Gardens.

Put into bat first, Titans produced an imperious performance with the bat, posting an impressive total of 198/3 in 20 overs. Their ever-reliable top order was the backbone of their massive score, with Sai Sudharsan (52), Shubman Gill (90), and Jos Buttler (41*) leading the charge.

Sudharsan’s (52) set the foundation for a big total. Gill, however, was the standout performer, playing a brilliant knock of (90) runs, which included some impressive shots as well. Meanwhile, Buttler’s (41) runs added stability to the middle order, helping the team maintain momentum through the middle overs.

In reply, KKR struggled to get going. Skipper Ajinkya Rahane showed immense grit, top-scoring for his side with a fighting half-century (50). However, despite his efforts, KKR’s chase never gained enough steam, as they ended up at 159/8 in 20 overs. For GT, Prasidh Krishna and Rashid Khan took two wickets each, while Siraj, Washington Sundar, Sai Kishore and Ishant Sharma took one wicket each.
