West Indies, suffering defeat in the first game, returned strongly, launching themselves back into the series with a 6-wicket win in the second game. Skipper Hayley Matthews starred with the bat for West Indies, blasting 63 unbeaten to help the side chase a target of 114. South Africa, meanwhile, were earlier leading the series 1-0 after winning the first game, but West Indies managed to level the series. Now, heading into the third and final game, both teams would aim to clinch the series.
