West Indies and Nepal are set to lock horns in the first T20I of a three-match series on Saturday in Sharjah. For West Indies, this series serves as a pivotal part of their preparation for the T20 World Cup next year, while Nepal will look to find rhythm and consistency against the dangerous West Indies.

West Indies are in a phase of rebuilding. With the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup on the horizon, the Caribbean side will use this series as a crucial step to finalize combinations.

For Nepal, the road has been far bumpier. Coming off a tri-series involving the Netherlands and Scotland where they struggled to string together performances, the team is in search of a more fruitful result. Despite having a good squad, Nepal have been inconsistent; however, they would hope to perform better against West Indies. Nepal will be led by Rohit Paudel, and they will rely heavily on useful contributions from Aarif Sheikh and Dipendra Singh Airee. Meanwhile, their bowling will be spearheaded by spinner Sandeep Lamichhane.
