World Cup 2023, final: Time to unleash as India and Australia vie for title

News

Australia and India will be battling it out against each other in the final match of the ODI World Cup on Sunday at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad amid the 130,000 people in attendance. It is going to be a hugely challenging game for both teams after their extraordinary performances during the tournament’s group stage games. India have been the unbeaten side in the tournament with their massively impressive performances. They have won all of their games during the group stage clashes. India and Australia had last met each other during group stage game where Australia had slumped to a 6-wicket defeat, but since then, Australia’s campaign has been pretty impressive after stumbling with two defeats in the beginning.

Having won the title on five occasions, Australia are eying their sixth title victory in the World Cup while India have been failing for long but this time they would be hopeful of lifting the prestigious title amid the home advantages. There are not to be likely changes for both teams as the current set of players from both sides has lived up to the promises. India have been securing great performances from their batters and bowlers while Australia have too been positive. There is a slight inkling about Marnus Labuschagne of Australia as Marcus Stoinis may replace him in the playing XI. Labuschange hasn’t been among the runs despite getting opportunities, so he might be dropped. Overall, all of Australia’s players have repaid the faith. India and Australia have faced each other in 13 ODI games where Australia have won 8 and India have emerged victorious in 5.

India Probable XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Suryakumar Yadav/Ishan Kishan, Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj, Mohammed Shami

Australia Probable XI: David Warner, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Inglis (wk), Marcus Stoinis, Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins (c), Adam Zampa, Josh Hazlewood.
